Three Story Home Addition
These homeowners near Annapolis decided to remodel by adding a three-story home addition to their waterfront home. The addition included a new two-car garage, kitchen, dining room, master bath, and bedroom.
The open design on the first floor offers a view of the wooded property and the river from the kitchen. The homeowners chose a simple, nautical theme including an exposed beam ceiling comprised of tongue & groove planking in keeping with the waterfront location. To offer a decorative touch to the kitchen a band of subway tile was used to add color and texture. The tile breaks up the expanse of walls and cabinets nicely. The homeowners also wanted a smooth and sleek, uncluttered look in the kitchen. Continuity was achieved by the blending of the black granite countertops with the black glass cooktop. Finally, a suspended lighting system was installed to give ample illumination and a unique sloped ceiling to offer interest in the neutral tone kitchen.
