His & Her Bathroom Remodel
Our clients had a large en suite bathroom in their late 90s home. The style in that time period included an albatross garden tub and neo angles in the architecture. Our goal was to update to this decade and smooth out and streamline the lines in the space for this bathroom remodel. A second and most important goal is to remove the very large garden tub.
We reconfigured the bathroom to create an alcove for a beautiful Leland free-standing tub with a Trillian tub filler. Offers more space and a leaner attractive bathing experience. All the heavy tile is gone and the extra platform made cleaning the tub more difficult and was totally unnecessary. Do you have a late 90s home with a large garden tub you never use? We can take that space for you and make it a more appealing and relaxing soaking spot.
Clean & Bright Bathroom Tile
Choosing a new tile was paramount in adding a clean and bright appearance. The old tan and brown ceramic tile gave the room a dingy look. Replacing it with a large 24″ x 24″ white marble-veined ceramic tile kept the space light and coordinated with the white fixtures and Calcutta Ultra quartz countertops. The bathroom is now reminiscent of a luxury hotel suite with plenty of space for two to prepare for the day!
To keep the continuity the walk-in shower was updated to include the same white, marble-veined tile on the walls in a somewhat smaller pattern of 12″ x 24″. We opened up the shower area and added glass panels and a door allowing light to infiltrate from the window directly opposite. To update the shower area we needed to wall off a window within and remove the heavy glass block.
A little whimsy was chosen by the client by creating a shower floor and niche in a combination of round marble and glass mosaic. The colors of Sobe Dusk Penny Round Mosaic coordinate wonderfully with the grey-veined pattern in the white ceramic tile. A floating quartz bench was added for comfort and style. To create an exotic showering experience a Raincan head was installed on the ceiling of the shower. Also, a handheld shower was affixed to the wall. All the faucets and fixtures in this bathroom remodel are shiny chrome.
A more open feel was created by adding a tempered glass wall with a door and removing the glass block and solid wall that was originally installed. The shower itself was slightly enlarged but the transformation is truly created through the natural light and white wall tiles.
Functional Bathroom Cabinetry
Both of the vanities add a rich depth and are from Koch Cabinets in a Silverwood stained Beechwood. The hardware is also a shiny chrome that matches the chrome fixtures and the white quartz tops bring a great contrast. These His & Her vanities are direct across from each other bringing symmetry to the design.
We offer several cabinet manufacturers and display them in our Design Studio. Are you interested in remodeling your bathroom? Contact our design team and let them create just the right plan for your space. We offer 3-D color designs to help you visualize your redesigned space.
His & Her Closet
Another remodel adjacent to the bathroom was the walk-in closet. We removed the wall separating the two closets and made one roomy space for the owners to share. The closets also had neo angles and wasted space so we straightened out the angles and created even more storage. A Fluerco backlit LED dressing mirror was added to the room which is a much sought-after accessory. The existing linen closet was made a bit smaller to offer the client a beautiful make-up vanity space. Closets and Storage by Owings can offer custom closets, pantries, garages, mudrooms, and laundry storage units to fit your personal needs and style.
