Updated Modern Design
This home built in 2000 had a great deal of square footage. The upstairs was roomy and included six bedrooms and six baths but unfortunately, the design was outdated. First and foremost the homeowners wanted to redesign their master suite to suit their style and taste. The scope of work for the bathroom was to demo the entire room and start over creating a luxury modern bathroom. Removing the four Romanesque Doric columns around the garden tub was paramount. Are you living in a dated master suite? Take a look at what our interior design team can do for you at Home Interiors by Design!
Modern WiFi Bathroom Technology
What was unanimously decided was to keep the beautiful oversized arched window over the tub. The window created a focal point in the new design and was updated to include Smart Tint Technology. Providing complete privacy when you want it and with the press of a button remove that privacy allowing the beauty of nature to be showcased. This was not the only technology that would be incorporated into the master suite but also chosen was Smart Shower WiFi technology controls in the shower. With the sound of your voice, you can turn on your shower and the water temperature will be adjusted to your programmed degree of warmth. Step from a warm bed to a warm shower in just minutes.
Luxury Bathroom Tub In Shower
What used to be the tradition in bathrooms was a tub-shower combination. Then as the years rolled by the design changed to a roomy walk-in shower with a separate free-standing tub. Now, what is trending is the “Wet Room” which includes the free-standing soaking tub inside the very large walk-in shower. A luxury, modern bathroom perfectly describes this room as the shower walls and the bathroom floor were created in 12″ x 24″ marble tile. The challenge was to get these large pieces of stone from the driveway on the other side of the house to the second-floor master. Required for this design was aligning the new drains for the shower and tub and penetrations for the tub filler. A backup safety drain was installed to assure water was controlled should the original drain would overflow. Our plumbers were up to the task and everything works beautifully as the homeowner desired. Plenty of room for all the necessities for a soothing soak is kept in order in the oversized horizontal niche right above the 66″ long tub.
The painted white Koch cabinets add to the bright design and offer plenty of storage and counter space. A custom upholstered window seat was added to bring luxury to an all-time high as one can sit in the spa-like atmosphere while enjoying the bucolic backyard. The window seat includes underneath storage and the glass front cabinet is perfect for keeping soft, fluffy towels in keeping with the luxurious bath experience. Master Bedroom and Closet
Adjoining this luxury modern bathroom is a master bedroom and walk-in closet that is just as extravagant! Are you longing for that place to retreat after a long day on the job or with the kids? The large footprint of the bedroom allowed for a cozy and private seating area for the homeowners with a fireplace. As a focal point, custom floor-to-ceiling cabinetry was built around the modern fireplace to add plenty of storage. This allowed for hiding the media and devices to enable relaxation in front of the wide-screen television or enjoying music. Also, we designed extra cabinetry on the opposite wall and entrance to the walk-in closet. Adding a beautiful custom and luxurious feel. Check out this post Master Bathroom Ideas to Inspire.
