Remodeling In Modern Style
Our client purchased a home on a beautiful 7+ acre lot offering mega privacy and a lush landscape. This home built in 1986 had a great layout and was in a perfect neighborhood but it needed to receive a modern style remodel. Place Architecture worked to design the homeowner’s dream and as a team, we remodeled this beautiful new interior!
One goal for these homeowners was to create a home that they could enjoy for many years to come so accessibility was important. Plans for a future project include leveling floors in areas and installing a lift from the garage to the interior of the house.
Wood Flooring and Rails
Modernizing the home was a breeze with the great vision and excellent taste of the homeowners and the architect. We recreated the staircase to the second floor and changed the railing to include black balusters and white oak rails also in the sunken living room in exchange for the cold metal rails.
All the flooring in this home was replaced or refinished. The foyer was refinished with a lighter stain and the living room carpet was replaced to match as was the balance of the first floor. All carpet was removed and white oak hardwood was installed on the second floor and the stairway to complement the parquet white oak on the first floor. As you can see from the before images the staircase remodel makes all the difference to this foyer and to the entire interior remodel.
What an entry this new front door offers the home! The showpiece is a Special Pella Reserve with four light double in-swing doors in Mahogany and the lock set is in matte black finish. All door hardware in the home was replaced with a black matt finish which is complementary to the other black accents chosen.
Adding to the increase in a light and airy look was the replacement of windows and skylights. The new Pella Architect, Traditional windows with the white interior finish, and the brown exterior finish now make this home energy efficient.
Warm Kitchen Remodel
The new kitchen design required the removal of windows as originally configured offering more cabinet space and a beautiful balance. We replaced the stark white cabinets and ceramic tile flooring with warm wood cabinetry and oak parquet floors. New Borghini Gold quartz counters and appliances finish the updated kitchen. A stained wood beam was included in the design to add a more rustic look and feel. What an exceptional difference was made by these changes! Our homeowners can still enjoy the lush landscape with windows set in strategic places in their new and improved kitchen!

Primary Bathroom Suite
Their design plan also included redoing the primary bathroom suite. The bedroom was remodeled to include a large entertainment center with a built-in television allowing these busy professionals to enjoy a quiet moment of reading or the news upon starting the day. One update was the bathroom fixtures including incorporating an enlarged free-standing tub. Also, we raised the floor to create a large walk-in shower with its own skylight. The final touch was upgrading the windows to energy-efficient Pellas creating this restful space. The new bathroom showcases clean lines and modern luxury finishes.
