Retreat-Like Bathroom
Our clients wanted to upgrade their main bathroom to create a retreat-like experience. She is a doctor at a local hospital which can be a stressful environment. The ability to relax and retreat to her own spa-like bathroom experience was the main objective.
A wonderful extra special retreat experience for this couple is the access to the private back deck. French doors swing open to a hot tub within feet of this remodeled main bath. Enjoying a glass of wine in the midst of nature while soaking in the hot tub and then moving a few feet away into a beautifully tiled walk-in shower also enhances this retreat space.
What a metamorphosis has taken place from the previous bathroom! The old-style 1990s glass block shower walls are no longer in vogue. Natural light cannot penetrate and cleaning is much more difficult. Even the commode was walled in by the same glass block. This made for a heavy overbearing feel to the room. By opening the space up with a half wall and clear glass the shower is flooded with natural light from the double French doors. The commode is now hidden in a separate room giving much more privacy.
Functional And Beautiful
Bright white cabinetry becomes light reflective surfaces. The beautiful blue herringbone tile backsplash coordinates with the wall tile in the walk-in shower bringing tranquility to the bathroom. Plenty of counter space for this double sink vanity offers storage for all their personal products as well as towels. Adding to the warmth of this new retreat-like bathroom are the Kohler brushed bronze hardware, faucets, and sconces. They coordinate well with the Revwood wood-style waterproof flooring creating a soothing experience.
