Stone Home Kitchen and Sunroom Makeover
A beautiful 1920 stone home in Roland Park is everything a grand true American home should be, but the homeowners wanted to update the kitchen to reach into the millennium. The kitchen remodel stayed within the footprint of the original kitchen but was updated with clean white shaker cabinets and blue glass tile backsplash for pizzazz! This remodel kept the classic style inside and out but allowed for some very important conveniences such as updated appliances including a large two-door stainless refrigerator. The removal of a bank of cabinets over the peninsula that obstructed the light from the windows now allows the sun to shine in brightly giving the room an open and airy feel. For ease in entertaining a wet bar was added just outside the kitchen in the dining space. The 70/30 glass front, lighted cabinets also bring in the light and allows the homeowner to show off some favorite collectibles.
There is a pass-thru window over the kitchen sink to the adjacent remodeled sunroom, which is great for entertaining. The sunroom was updated to include a new custom built-in serving bar which countertop is apart of the kitchen counter making a smooth transition. One feature that is very extraordinary is the unique transom incorporated into the stone wall that allows in light and adds an artistic flair. The original stone exterior wall makes this room a favorite for the family and adds a quaint charm to this addition.
