Industrial Style Urban Loft Renovation
This client desired to live in Baltimore City and found an urban loft in just the perfect location. The urban loft was spacious with an open floor plan between the kitchen, dining, and living area. The design included warm wood tones along with exposed heating and air conditioning ducts lending to the industrial style.
Rustic meets modern would best describe the look and feel of this remodeled urban loft. Updating from the existing interior to make a bright and airy atmosphere with plenty of warmth. The wood floors were refinished and the exposed ductwork was painted black giving a pleasant contrast and coordinated with black framed windows. Natural light is at a premium in this condominium and provides the homeowners with views of the city from the corner space.
Modern Black Kitchen Cabinets
Black cabinetry has come on the scene in full force especially with the modern design style. Black isn’t usually connected with kitchen cabinetry but can be the right choice adding dimension to the space if used with lighter shades to create contrast. The renovated kitchen includes a slate-colored tile focal wall and a bright blue ceramic tile backsplash in a Chevron pattern. Waterfall island and perimeter countertops offer a lighter granite to bring the contrast. Black cabinetry and wallpaper were perfect choices giving this kitchen a dramatic look and feel.

Our homeowner, transplants from Philadelphia to Baltimore, enjoy their expansive wine collection. A state-of-the-art wine room was included in the design for this renovation and includes a black theme to coordinate with the kitchen. This theme carried over into the entry hallway with black wallpaper as a backdrop for artwork extending the drama!
This complete urban loft renovation was started and completed right before the COVID 19 lockdowns. Not a bad place to spend quarantine…
